The board has acquired a plot at Luguruni outside the city for the purpose, said the chairperson of the Board, Dr Hellen Bandiho, during the organisation's annual conference held at the Arusha International Conference Centre.

 

"We expect to build PSPTB Complex for office accommodation and other board's functions. The project is expected to cost around Sh24.5 billion after its completion," he told the delegates, most of them professionals in the sector. Sr Bandiho said although the board has its resources to kick-start the implementation of the project, it was requesting stakeholders in the industry like commercial banks and external donors to support it.

 

According to her, the board has already set aside Sh205 million from its internal revenue for the headquarters project and was still soliciting funds from other sources.

 

The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange-listed CRDB Bank has expressed its willingness to support the procurement body in building the complex.

 

"My bank will assist you in accessing appropriate funding for the project once we go through your project write-up and familiarise ourselves," Dr Charles Kimei, the managing director said at the conference.

 

He commended PSPTB for initiating the project which he said requires a strong financial base and time to complete.
